Band of Brewers
Band of Brewers
Last year, six local breweries put together bands and took the stage at World Cafe Live in a good old fashioned battle of the bands. Everything from bluesy-rock originals to hip-hop and death metal covers were performed and it was easy to say, everyone left entertained and impressed. In the end, Yards' tribute to death metal and Troegs Starsan originals came out on top in what was far from an easy decision for the judges. In case you missed it, here are video's of a song from each bands performance.

Weyerbacher covering the Black Keys “Little Black Submarines”
Sly Fox covering Outkast “Hey Ya”
Troegs performing a Starsan original “Don't Do It”
Dock Street covering The Stooges “Search and Destroy”
Victory covering Beck's “Devils Haircut”
Yards covering Motorhead's “Ace of Spades”

This year, Band of Brewers is back and we're stepping it up a notch. Many of last years bands will take the stage again, along with a handful of new bands. Our MC for the evening will once again be, the one and only, Curt Decker of Nodding Head Brewery. As with last years rules, each band will have the opportunity to perform 3 songs on stage. They can play any songs of their choosing, which can be either covers or originals. We will have a panel of “celebrity” judges on hand to critique their performances and select a winner. The audience will be able to get in on the judging process this year as well, as each attendee will get a vote to cast. We will once again be raising money for charity, as part of the proceeds will go to the charity of choice of the winning band.

Each brewery will be represented by draft beers of their choice, so expect a pretty awesome lineup of local craft beer. World Cafe Live's full service bar will be open if you decide to drink something other than beer. There will also be food available for purchase for those who desire more than just beer to get through the concert.
