Beta Hi-Fi Emerging Artist Festival
Beta Hi-Fi Emerging Artist Festival
Beta Hi-Fi is a FREE multi-day music festival featuring some of the Philly region's best new artists! Spanning from July 16th - 19th, we continue the tradition of providing a platform for local songwriters and musicians to perform for a broader audience. Each night, three handpicked artists will perform a 20-30 minute set to a rotating panel of judges. The winning artist from each night will return Friday to compete for a $500 cash prize, an opening slot at the 3rd annual Philly Music Fest in September, one song recorded and mixed at Berlin Studios, and two free 2-hour rehearsals at the Boom Room.

Beta Hi-Fi serves as a showcase for industry professionals and fans. Whether you’re an artist, friend, family, or just a music lover, come hang out and discover new music! Our restaurant opens at 5pm with a full dinner menu & bar, including happy hour specials from 5-7pm. The music starts at 8pm & admission is free.

About our sponsors:

Philly Music & Arts Fest is a non-profit endeavor, uniquely featuring a lineup of all Philly bands. The Festival is both a testament and celebration of the exploding music scene in Philadelphia, including both emerged and emerging artists. Our mission is to support the local music ecosystem, including musicians and independent venues, and donate all profits to local music education programs.

The Boom Room is a private recording studio, a livestream video broadcast studio, a fully equipped band rehearsal room , and an indoor/outdoor private event space owned and operated by drummer and music producer Gary Dann. It is located in heart of the artistically burgeoning and culturally diverse Fishtown section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, PA.

This studio regularly hosts a variety of recording sessions, band rehearsals, livestream video webcasts, community education workshops, music production classes, an open improvised songwriting workshop called Music Church, album listening events, art gallery shows, and is working with local families to develop a neighborhood youth music mentorship program.

Berlin is a recording and animation studio located in the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia. It is owned and operated by multi-media artist Hannah Darrah (a North Carolina native) and producer/songwriter Joe Michelini (of Toms River, NJ). Their studio sits on the second floor of a very old house in the not-too-distant woods, where they welcome all sorts of artists and wildlife into their home and yard, respectively. They have been married since 2016 and work one door away from one another, perfecting their craft and pursuing the creative spirit with reverence and curiosity, in hopes of better serving the greater Philadelphia region as individual artists and assistants to any interested parties. They enjoy homemade pizza, gardening, and sampling local beer.
