Darrell Robinson & Adam Blackstone Present The 2018 Thanksgiving Celebration
Award-winning, professional drummer, and Musical Director for Pharrell and N.E.R.D, Darrell Robinson, II will host the 10th Annual “Thanksgiving Shed” - an evening of musical expression and performances from professional artists and musicians that is designed to inspire and motivate those who have an interest and passion for music and the arts. Celebrating a decade of the “Thanksgiving Shed”, it will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the World Café Live, 3025 Walnut Street in Philadelphia.

There is a special appreciation for musicians and artists that come out of Philadelphia that can be seen across major television networks, and on national and international stages. Darrell has taken on the challenge of bringing together groups of decorated and experienced Philadelphia natives who have succeeded in music, into one setting to showcase its impact and influence. This event provides tools and accessibility to experienced musicians for aspiring musicians. The ‘Thanksgiving Shed” has historically attracted over 700 attendees under one roof. A highlight of the event is the “Next Gen Spotlight” and our contributions to Covenant House, a shelter for homeless youth. In this time of economic cutbacks in our schools and communities the Arts are usually the first to go. “Next Gen Spotlight” supports the arts by encouraging young talent and giving them a platform during the “Thanksgiving Shed” to perform. Over the years, we have successfully helped to facilitate relationships that resulted in on-going program and initiatives including:

• A space for networking and business card exchanges
• Integration of music curriculum in Philadelphia and S. Jersey grade
schools
• Partnering with community organizations to host Black History Month
events
• Career advancements and job placement for musicians, artists,
and technicians

During the evening, a scholarship will be presented to a youth applicable to educational programs or to acquire equipment that will assist in their musical advancement. The 2018 “Thanksgiving Shed” will be one to remember, and we want to invite you to be part of the experience. The Covenant House will again be the recipient of our philanthropic efforts. We invite you to join the esteemed list of partners who have supported the advancement of music and the arts, and:
