Tones of Home presented by BuildaBridge
BuildaBridge International presents Tones of Home, a concert and art-making series for the people of Philadelphia. Tones of Home brings together musicians from diverse backgrounds to amplify the sounds of an united culture against the cacophonous sounds of hate, racism and bigotry. In addition to the concert, BuildaBridge invites concert goers to participate in community arts programming (music, movement, fine arts, etc) prior to the show. Collaborative art-making helps make better community. Join us. All ages welcome!
Kate Myers-Coffman
Kate Myers-Coffman is a Midwest born singer/songwriter and a transplant to Philadelphia. Mixing folk and pop, Kate has released four studio albums as a solo artist, toured nationally and internationally, and has spent time as a band member of A Lull (Chicago), Margot and the Nuclear So & So's (Chicago/Indianapolis), and Richard Edwards (Indianapolis). Kate is also a board-certified music therapist and works with people who have experienced trauma and loss by engaging with them in therapeutic songwriting so they can learn new ways to connect with themselves and their communities.
Lizdelise is a dreamy pop rock duo from Philadelphia. Angular guitar lines meet looper, drum machine, and synth to create pulsing, intricate soundscapes and melodies--equal parts distortion and intimacy. Their record, Holy Matrimony, will be released November 2018.
Ami Yares
Singer/Songwriter Ami Yares is the offspring of the New Jersey turnpike, raised in the echo of the Liberty Bell and caught between the lines of folk songs sung together late at night. "Yares wields his 12-string guitar as if it were an entire orchestra, backing his vocals with a dense, rich cascade of sound (David Foster, AXS)." His music sounds as if Pete Seeger took a liking to electric guitar and driving rhythms, then gave it all back up for the acoustic guitar. Not only on stages across Europe, the US and Middle East has Ami brought his music, but also into communities in conflict seeking ways to better the future.

For Ami, it's a privilege and responsibility to follow the muse of music and justice, together. This edition of Tones of Home celebrates the release of Ami's new five-song EP, begin to Begin Again.
