Lines in the Sky
Lines in the Sky
Lines In The Sky is a trio of young progressive musicians intending to ricochet rock music back to life. Influenced by time-tested artists from Peter Gabriel, Rush, and Sting to contemporaries such as Coheed and Cambria, Meshuggah, Circa Survive, and Devin Townsend Project, Lines In The Sky weaves accessible yet intricately composed songs. Press quotes aptly note that the band “peddles in rock that is both aggressive and progressive without falling into screamy clichés or jam-band noodling,” and also noting that “these tunes impress, and lead LITS out of their inspirations’ shadows and into their own place in the rock landscape.”

Lines In The Sky is made up of brothers Jesse and Bowman Brock, with a recent addition of classically trained bassist Ben McAnelly. All three of the band members are in their early 20’s and have realized their ambitious vision of building a career rock band. Though still very young, the band utilizes their formal audio engineering education and musical training to produce their own technically-challenging songs that receive praise from musicians and fans alike, while also touching lyrically on current social and personal issues.

Even with one band member still of college age, Lines In The Sky is already adept at touring regularly during their school breaks, regionally and nationally, as well as playing locally in their competitive Nashville market. This relentless touring has resulted in the band receiving regular internet and college radio airplay in various markets in the Eastern US, with much attention being paid to their 2016 full-length release Parallel Travel. Parallel Travel is the band’s second collaboration with Grammy-winning engineer Tim Palmer (Pearl Jam, U2, David Bowie, Blue October). The band also counts legendary Grammy-winning producer/engineer Richard Dodd (The Traveling Wilburys, Tom Petty, Kings of Leon) as a mentor, as Dodd has mastered the band’s EPs and albums, as well as coaching the band as they have matured as musicians.
