AM Radio
AM Radio
Have you ever perked up when the radio plays a song that first hit popular stations when you were young? Do you turn the volume up to obnoxious levels and sing along? Music can bring us right back to a time and place we can remember with clarity. What were you doing then? What song was playing? But even as the importance of the memory itself fades, the emotional afterglow tagged to the music lingers. AM Radio plays all of those songs. Even the ones you’ve forgotten.

Kevin Burk, a life long resident of King of Prussia is excited about this new endeavor, which he founded with fellow lead singer Su Teears. “We were on a road trip one day to New England and just listening to the all those songs from the late ’60s and early ’70s that are two and a half minutes long that everybody likes. Sometimes you’re ashamed to admit you like them, but you do. We cover all that stuff, from the Carpenters to Deep Purple and everything in between. It’s a great project that we’re really proud of and the band has been really well received.” They've shared stages with the likes of Nate Watts (Stevie Wonder Band), Paul Sinclair (Get The Led Out) Len Hause (mouth harp on original recording of Hey Baby by Bruce Channel) and, Don Dannemann (The Cyrkle).

AM Radio is based in King of Prussia and came to life in late 2014, drawing from the members' shared love for all things melodic, nostalgic, musically rewarding and just plain fun. Specializing in ‘60s and ‘70s a.m. radio hits, their repertoire spans the musical generations from a time when radio was king, sending you on a musical sojourn with one great song after another. Selections include remarkable renditions of “Spirit In The Sky,” “Right Place Wrong Time,” “To Sir With Love,” “I Think Were Alone Now,” “Brand New Key,” “Day After Day,” “California Dreamin’,” and “White Rabbit.”
AM Radio gives us a glimpse into the years when our brains leapt with joy at the music that’s come to define us. Those years may have passed, but each time we hear the songs we loved, the joy they once brought us surges anew. Come and celebrate one long Summer of Love with AM Radio!
